RCCC Rink Championships

Due to miscalculated planning, our first round game against the Musketeers came at 10am the day after the top end of our team were at a fellow club members wedding.
History does not relate if this was relevant or not.  Suffice to say the early Saturday morning start was not to our teams liking and the scores were not in our favour, leading to an early hand shake.
At least our draw for the Swan sees us straight through to the semi-final.

Rennie - Top of the Table Clash

At last nights top of the table clash, leader Morgan was being deputised by Sandy in a titanic clash against Rowena.  The final result saw Team Ms Kerr take a big 11-3 win (not securing the 'granny' this time out) and going joining Team Nicoll Snr on 6 points.  Rowena moves into the lead due to her huge haul of ends.
The last games in the first round sees a bottom of the table battle between the (currently) winless teams Aberdein and Pate.

Wingate is Go......

The Wingate got underway last night with the defending champion Sandy sitting this round out.
The Nicoll family was represented by Rennie Winner, Lindsey (McConnell) aided by her dad taking on Dave Munro.  This was a tight game from the outset with only one end going for more than a single.  Perhaps fittingly honours were even with a 4 - 4 peel and Lindsey just edging it on ends.
The other game saw President Willie taking on Past President James L.  Things were bubbling along nicely until a less than ideal shot by Willie (He couldn't see Graeme's broom against his trousers, apparently) allowed James to draw for a 3.  Thereafter, luck was not on Willie's side and James made a couple of well judged shots to take the game 6 - 3.
Generally, it was good to see new faces on the ice and a late night drink at the bar saw the Wingate Rosebowl well under way.

'MY HADDINGTON'

The High Street traders have produced a magazine to high light our community.
I am pleased to say that our curling club features.

Rennie - Start your engines

The Rennie got underway last night with a fiercely contested game between Karen Munro and James Pate with Karen's team coming out the victors with a 5 - 3 win.
The other game saw Andy Aberdein pit his team against Morgan.  Andy and his team never quite got the hang of the tricky conditions on sheet one, or the new stones but were unlucky to miss a take out which would have put them only one shot down going in to the final end.  The final result was 6 - 3 to Morgan.
