Wingate - Final thoughts.

The final round of the Wingate saw only minor changes to the league positions, Sandy having the night off having secured the title a couple of weeks ago.  It also saw a powerful last game from Squad Aberdein who led Dave Munro five ends to two, however these were a good two ends for Dave meaning he took the game 6 shots to 5 ! - and moved onto the podium in third place.  Meanwhile in a rerun of the President/Vice President game Team Kerr secured second place with a decisive win.

Team Nicoll (male, junior) have had a dominant season, dropping only one game (to J Logan) and peeling one game against second placed Team Kerr (snr)  Sandy led the league from start to finish.  Willie, who had a good season only lost one more game but interestingly won and lost the same number of ends and was only 2 'shots up' behind our winners.
The records show Team Aberdein in the strong position, holding up the entire league.  Although this reflects the results it does not reflect the play as they often played much better than the scores show.

Now we ask if Team Nicoll (female, junior) - OK, Team McConnell can make it a Nicoll clean sweep in the Rennie or can she be caught by Team Nicoll (male, senior) or Team Pate.

Rennie - Family Double on the Cards

Things are still tight in the Rennie League.
In theory, any of our 5 teams could still win, although after last nights back-to-back steals of 5's against Team Pate (I bet James regretted taking that night off - or maybe not!) Lindsey looks in pole position to take the title.  After Sandy taking the Wingate crown last week, that would be some achievement and may help heal the pain of the 'Oldies' taking the Old v Young title (again).
In a twist of irony the next Rennie game could seal the win for Lindsey if she defeats her nearest title contender, her dad !
The remaining three teams are all sharing the same points and are only separated by ends, so all still to play for.
If Lindsey wins will she bring one of her famous cakes along to celebrate ?
